GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE TROPICAL M.35 COMBAT HELMET

Issued originally as a Luftwaffe double-decal combat helmet, it has been completely covered in a tropical finish. There are small areas of light green similar to the green used in Normandy camouflage helmets; this could possibly have been added later after the movement of the Luftwaffe soldier. The tricolour is just about visible through the paint; the Luftwaffe decal can only be seen in certain light where the outline can be seen underneath the paint. The paint remains on two of the three liner retaining rivet heads. The helmet was fitted with an M.40 liner, therefore indicating its late 35 production. The liner is all complete, good colour, with its original drawstring. The chinstrap is complete but is very delicate and is possibly broken in the centre and has been collector-reinforced with cardboard on either side. The helmet shell is size 64, batch number ‘13198’. The interior of the bowl is in Luftwaffe blue-grey. A super tropical helmet.
