A very good example of the Luftwaffe summer weight flying helmet, constructed in the classic salt-and-pepper canvas material—heavily used by aircrew during the Battle of Britain.
This example is complete with its original Siemens silk-woven technical label, fitted with both earphones and throat microphones, and retaining its long connecting lead with jack plug for aircraft connection. Part of the rubber insulation on the main lead has deteriorated and broken away with age, though the remainder of the electrical fittings are intact.
All fastening straps are present, and the buckles function correctly. A fine, well-preserved example of this iconic Luftwaffe flying helmet.
