A very fine ET66 stamped paratrooper helmet with original liner size 68, fitting a head size of 56. The exterior retains virtually all of its original field grey-green factory finish, with minor areas of rust bleed. The Luftwaffe decal is sharp and clear, with a single abrasion to the rear of the eagle’s head. Original three-hole spanner bolts remain intact.
The interior strapping is complete, showing service wear; all male/female closure studs are present, with the final adjuster stud firmly attached. The Sorbo rubber suspension between liner and band is solid, and the light tan leather liner shows only minor roughness along the lower edge. The maker mark, ‘Karl Heisler, Berlin,’ is clear on the front section of the leather.
Accompanying the helmet is an original army splinter-pattern camouflage cover with foliage loops, field-adapted by a Luftwaffe paratrooper. The cover shows minor nicks, light discoloration, and small areas of rust bleed that align with the helmet shell, confirming it as original. Tested and verified, the cover retains its bowl-like shape when inverted, a reliable indicator of authenticity.
