This is an exceptional example of the RZ20 paratrooper parachute, the standard-issue equipment for German airborne forces during the height of the Second World War. This set is remarkably complete and remains in its original carrying bag.
The parachute features its original camouflage silk canopy and all associated rigging lines and harnesses. A significant feature is the presence of the original manufacturer's label from Schroder & Company, which is stitched to the interior of one of the harness straps. This label includes various technical details, a clear Luftwaffe acceptance stamp, and a production date of 24 April 1942. An identical matching label is securely attached to the exterior of the carrying bag.
The harness assembly is entirely complete, including the front release mechanism and the static line strop. The transit bag is also in excellent condition, with both carrying handles intact and all closure studs functioning correctly. Finding a complete RZ20 assembly with matching labels and its original bag is increasingly difficult. This is a primary piece of airborne equipment, ideal for completing a high-quality paratrooper display or mannequin.
