German WWII Luftwaffe Pilot Observers Badge in Its Original Case

A fine example of the non-maker marked Pilot Observers Badge, widely believed to have been produced by F.L. & L. A substantial portion of the original gilt remains on the wreath, with considerable silvering still present on the lower field of the eagle. The badge features two prominent domed rivets, a thick needle pin, and retains its original hook and hinge.

Presented in its original early pattern flat-top box, boldly stamped with ‘LUFTWAFFE FLUGZEUGFÜHRER U. BEOBACHTER ABZEICHEN’. The lid shows slight distortion, and the original paper covering concealing the hinge has deteriorated over time. The flocked base of the box has faded but matches the badge’s condition perfectly, making this a well-preserved and desirable display piece.
