GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE OFFICERS VISOR CAP

A late-war Erel-produced Luftwaffe officer's visor cap.  Size 56. Nice quality Luftwaffe blue-grey cloth. A very nice matched set of a Luftwaffe eagle with short stubby wings and a national cockade below. The national cockade is of the vented type, but the cap does not have the aperture inside for the flow of air. Standard mohair centre band. Good bright waffenfarbe, which has slightly turned a hue of grey in parts. Standard officers' cap cords. Being the late-war cap, it does not have the double-edged rimmed peak normally found on Luftwaffe officers' caps but is a feature of late-war caps. Gold satin lining with the Erel trademark only visible held in certain lights; the Erel gold blocked trademark on the dark brown centre band is again just visible. A feature we have not seen before is that stamped on the gold satin lining are the Roman numeral 7 and the Latin numbers 21.
