GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE M40 SINGLE DECAL COMBAT HELMET

A very nice condition size Q66 shell, batch number 10407 Luftwaffe single decal combat helmet, the exterior of the helmet retaining at least 90% of its original paint finish with some minor rust bleed to the rear and top of the skull. The single Luftwaffe eagle is good and clear, with three abrasions that can be seen on our web images. To the interior, the liner has much original colour remaining; it has some creasing and collector strengthening to four of the eight tongues. One tongue stamped size 58 and with its original drawstring fitted, the chinstrap is in near mint condition. Applied to the helmet liner is the name of the American soldier who captured this helmet and his address in Wichita Falls, Texas.
