GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE M.35 EARLY DECAL COMBAT HELMET

A lovely condition ET66 size shell in the early Luftwaffe blue. Some thinness to the paint in the forehead area. The helmet is complete with both its national tricolour and its early short winged eagle. The outer shell retains all the paint to the liner, retaining rivet heads. Excellent colour to the interior, with its mid tan liner, which is complete, undamaged, soft and supple. Faint traces of a size stamping to the liner, with original drawstring and complete with a chinstrap, which unfortunately is broken in the centre. Stamped into the dome in white ink are the markings ‘FZG F.Schule Furph’. The point of the chinstrap is ‘Berlin’ maker-marked and dated ‘1939 ’, and further along what remains of the chinstrap is the identical stamping as the ink markings in the dome of the helmet for a flying school and Furph. There is an airman’s cloth name tag sewn into the liner on the inside rear edge, but we do not want to pull the liner out to its full extent to reveal the name in case of damage. A super early double-decal-identified helmet. The collector’s original very descriptive label is still attached to the helmet.
