An interesting Luftwaffe M.35, shell stamped ‘SE64’. Originally issued as a double decal with its M.35 aluminium liner band and square-edged strap buckles, later ordnance refurbished in a rough sand finish with its single decal, which does have some abrasions. The front left-hand leg of the swastika is slightly abraded. Through the light coating of rough sand finish, paint can be seen with shades of the red section of the old tricolour. The liner retaining rivet heads are of the early type in gloss and still retain some of their original finish. The inner liner retains excellent light colour with a partial name visible, prefixed with ‘Oblt’ for Oberleutnant. Complete with its original aluminium buckled strap with a maker stamp without a date, the excellent condition, very strong chinstrap. Batch number ‘6323’ stamped into the inner rear skirt of the helmet, which still retains its satin early M.35 finish. The liner is ink-stamped ‘57’ with its drawstring present. Around the lower bowl of the helmet, there is a narrow shade, approximately 1.5cm in width, which indicates a camouflage affixing band once attached to this helmet.
