GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE HAUPTGEFREITER FOUR POCKET TUNIC

A very nice condition, large size four-pocket Luftwaffe tunic for a Flight Hauptgefreiter. The nap to the cloth overall is magnificent, no visible moth damage, either by holes or by tracking. Fitted with a stitch-in set of yellow wool piped shoulder boards with a section of Luftwaffe tress on the base of each shoulder board, this could possibly indicate an officer candidate. To the collar is the yellow cording, the collar patches are a yellow wool base set with four gulls attached. The breast eagle is applied above the left-hand pocket. To the upper right-hand sleeve, as the tunic is worn, the Hauptgefreiter three-row rank insignia. To the interior, the tunic is lined in the heavyweight Luftwaffe blue grey brushed cotton, profusely marked ‘UNIFORM FABRIK ERIANGEN’ with a Luftwaffe acceptance stamp ‘LBA(s)39’ a, full complement of size stampings plus further ‘LBA39’ acceptance stamp on the edge of the inner pocket. Bandage pocket complete. All buttons present for the fitting of an inner collar. To the lower left sleeve, below the Hauptgefreiter patch,  is the flying personnel trade patch. Machine embroidered in silver grey on a slightly lighter shade of Luftwaffe backing material.
