The Generalluftzeugmeister were civilian technicians employed by the Luftwaffe, usually in maintenance and supply. They had their own special insignia, which was the very impressive Luftwaffe eagle surrounded by a cogwheel. This good-sized M.43 cap has some considerable wear; it is RB numbered to the interior, stamped size ‘56’ with a date ‘7/43’ to the dark grey bordering on maroon rayon lining. Cracking and wear to the half-moon-shaped interior forehead sweatband. One moth nip only to the front peak, otherwise no moth. Excellent nap to the cloth. Complete with its officers' silver wire waffenfarbe fully surrounding the crown, its large, impressive front badge with an enlisted ranks Luftwaffe cockade below, double button style.
