GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE DOUBLE EREL GENERAL’S WHITE TOP VISOR CAP

Good upper size 57 or 58 removable white top visor cap for a Luftwaffe General. The white top has some light foxing from storage; the top is removable from the Erel-produced base. The high-quality bullion gold eagle, which is on a white background, is lightly tacked with a total of 10 threads only to the white top. Standard black mohair centre band with a run of bullion gold waffenfarbe to either side of the band. Very nice high-quality gold bullion cockade with its Erel vented centre. Gold cap cords with the commonly encountered Luftwaffe double-edged front peak. To the inside of the front visor, a residue of black patent material has inlaid itself onto the green, probably from lying on another item of similar material within a heated situation. To the interior, it is gold satin lined, a complete celluloid centre lozenge with a good, clear silver blocked Erel Sonderklaas lozenge formed marking underneath the celluloid. Some age staining between the threads of the celluloid lozenge and the satin, with a grey leather sweatband having a gold Erel block marking on the grey leather. To the interior, the Erel vented hole is clearly in place.
