German WWII Luftwaffe Forestry Service Tunic and Cap

An exceptional set belonging to an Oberforstmeister of the Luftwaffe Forestry Service, comprising a forest green tunic and matching high saddle shape visor cap. The tunic is of superb quality, large size, with a four-button front, four pockets—two lower angled pockets and two upper pleated pockets with flaps—deep turned back cuffs, and a skirted back. The insignia includes stitch-on shoulder boards with green velvet base, silver inlay, green twisted cord, and acorn detail, complemented by heavy button wire collar patches and silver trim. A bullion wire Luftwaffe Forestry officers eagle is mounted on green backing. All tunic edges—including collar, front panels, cuffs, and pocket flaps—are piped in a darker green. A tailored hole in the lower left pocket accommodates a hunting hanger leather strap. No moth damage is present.

The accompanying visor cap is of matching grey-green material with forest green piping to the crown and the upper and lower sections of the dark green centre band. Correct bullion wire eagle and cockade on forestry green backing, with a green and silver twisted cord cap cord. Standard fibre peak. The interior features a light tan sweatband in excellent condition with minor wear, light tan satin lining, and the majority of the ‘Deutsche Wert Arbeit’ markings visible on the centre celluloid lozenge. The inner board band has a slight crack, causing minor distortion to the side view.
