German WWII Luftwaffe Flight White Top Cap

An extremely scarce Luftwaffe officer’s white top cap with yellow piping, constructed from the outset as a fixed white top rather than the more commonly encountered removable version. Made from thick, heavy white wool, showing only minor age-related staining to the crown. Fitted with its early short-wing, droop-tail Luftwaffe eagle above a matching national cockade, the latter unusually attached by thread rather than pins as part of its original construction. Features include a wide light tan mohair centre band, standard double buckle chinstrap, and a double-edged Luftwaffe-style peak. The interior retains a fine gold satin lining with a large celluloid lozenge bearing the maker’s silver-stamped mark of ‘Dalluge, Hannover Oster Strasse 2/3’. A highly desirable example, appearing unworn and showing only storage discolouration.
