An excellent and highly detailed document and photograph grouping to Oberwachtmeister Kurt Bahr, who served with distinction in Luftwaffe Heavy Flak units on the northern sector of the Eastern Front, most notably during the fighting in the Demjansk pocket. This grouping comprises six award documents, an SA Sports Badge book, a letter from the German Labour Service, and a superb studio portrait of Bahr wearing all his decorations.
Iron Cross 2nd Class award document, dated 1 February 1942, A5 size, mint condition, unfolded, signed by Dr. Steven, Oberst and Commander of Luftwaffe units with Army Group North.
War Service Cross 2nd Class with Swords citation, A5 size, once folded, dated 1 January 1942, pen-signed by General Bogatsch, Knights Cross winner and General of Flyers.
Ground Combat Badge of the Luftwaffe citation, A5 size, mint condition, once folded, dated 19 November 1942, signed on behalf of General of Flyers Bogatsch.
Luftwaffe Flak Combat Badge citation, A5 size, mint condition, dated 5 February 1942, also signed on behalf of General Bogatsch.
Winter Medal in the East award document, dated 28 August 1942, mint condition, unfolded, signed by an unidentified Oberleutnant.
Medal for 1 October 1938 citation, twice folded, excellent condition, signed on behalf of Generalmajor Mayer, Commander of Luftgau 6.
Also included is Bahr’s SA Sports Badge book with his photograph in RAD uniform, together with a printed letter from his German Labour Service commanding officer regarding the award of the badge. Completing the grouping is a high-quality studio portrait of Bahr as an Oberfeldwebel, wearing all his decorations, with a handwritten dedication on the reverse dated 1943.
Accompanied by two full A4 pages of detailed research covering Bahr’s service with the 13th, 411th, and 151st Flak Regiments, as well as the 2nd and 6th Flak Divisions, outlining their operational areas and combat history.
