A very scarce and completely original M.40 combat helmet, stamped size Q66. The exterior displays a three-tone camouflage in green, tan, and brown, reminiscent of First World War style but without the separation lines. The original Luftwaffe decal remains clear, with minor paint runs—one section of tan slightly over the forward wing of the eagle and a small green run over the bottom leg of the swastika. Overall paint shows slight losses as pictured on our website. The interior bears a partially obliterated name, suggesting it may have been worn by more than one soldier. The liner is complete with all eight tongues, original drawstring, and original chinstrap. It appears the liner was temporarily removed during the camouflage application, as paint is visible inside the helmet below the edge of the zinc liner band. The three liner retaining rivet heads show no paint, consistent with careful field application. Likely used by a member of a Luftwaffe Field Division.
