A very fine example of a rare Luftwaffe Air Ministry section visor cap, privately purchased and constructed from standard Luftwaffe blue-grey ribbed cloth. Non-size stamped but estimated at size 57 or 58, this cap features black piping to the crown and both edges of the mohair centre band. Remarkably, the cap shows no moth damage whatsoever.
Fitted with a matched set of the Luftwaffe eagle and cockade, along with a standard double buckle chinstrap. The front visor is of the double-ribbed type commonly seen on Luftwaffe officer and enlisted caps. The interior retains its light tan ersatz sweatband, with upper inner crown and sidelining in very light green satin. The celluloid centre lozenge remains complete and unbroken, gold-blocked with the maker’s mark Deutsche Wertarbeit. A scarce and well-preserved cap from a little-seen Luftwaffe service branch.
