A historically interesting group relating to Gefreiten Heinrich Triesch of Transport Column 15. The grouping includes an A5-size Iron Cross 2nd Class citation, once folded, non-punched, awarded 14 April 1943, with the pen signature of the Commanding General of Luftgau Tunis.
Also included is an illuminated type Afrika Armband citation, folded once with two splits along the fold, showing some dirt to the upper edge, bearing the facsimile signature of Field Marshal Kesselring, also awarded to Triesch. Accompanying the paperwork is a full-length studio photograph of Triesch in his Luftwaffe tropical uniform, unusually wearing open sandals, clearly taken in a North African studio.
Additional documents relate to the issue of the Afrika cuff band and prisoner of war postcards, making this a well-rounded and original Luftwaffe Afrikakorps grouping.
