GERMAN WWII KRIEGSMARINE WHITE TOP SUBMARINERS NCO VISOR CAP

A fabulous cap with its blue cover removed and a white cover in situ; the cap originally was built for two types of covers. The white top with age toning, complete with its gilt Kriegsmarine national eagle and gilded officer's quality cockade. Standard Kriegsmarine style of chinstrap with soft, crushable visor. Gilded anchor side buttons. The insignia of the U-Boat ‘U96’ applied to the left-hand side is  a sawfish. To the interior, the white satin lining is shredded in places, nicely maker-marked ‘AG KIEL’ with the retailer of ‘Hans Jurgensen, Flensburg’. The sweatband is intact. U96 was the boat of the Knight's Cross Winner Hans Lehmann-Willenbrock.
