A fine and well-preserved Kriegsmarine officer’s presentation example by Eickhorn, Solingen. The surface retains its full naval-style etched patterns with clear double fullers, displaying excellent brightness and quality. The fittings, including the pommel, cross guard, and scabbard, retain much of their original gilt finish with subtle frosted highlights throughout.
The celluloid grip shows gentle age toning with three small surface lines but remains complete with its original grip wire. The scabbard, notably free from dents—a rarity among naval examples—retains beautiful original gilt throughout. Still accompanied by its original portepee knot, tied in the correct manner, and a matching set of lion mask hangers on black velvet backing. The lion-head buckles bear the correct double-dot maker marking, and all clips and attachments remain functional, including the short steadying chain.
