German WWII Kriegsmarine Officer’s Display Piece

A very nice example of a Kriegsmarine officer’s display piece, featuring a standard etched pattern by the renowned maker Eickhorn. The original leather washer is still present, and the fit between the main body and scabbard remains snug and secure.

The gilt finish to the eagle pommel, cross guard, and scabbard is well preserved, with no indentations to the lower section of the scabbard. The undamaged celluloid grip retains its original grip wire, and the silver portapee knot remains wrapped in its original configuration, showing only light areas of oxidisation.

Included is a matching set of aluminium-buckled suspension straps. Both lion head buckles bear the starburst maker’s mark to the reverse, and the fabric is excellent throughout, with no signs of fraying. All four aluminium sprung-loaded clips retain their gilded finish, and the original small steadying chain is also present in gold-washed aluminium.
