German WWII Kriegsmarine M40 Combat Helmet

A scarce and desirable Kriegsmarine M40 combat helmet, size-marked EF68. The shell retains a subdued matt field finish, over which remains the all-gold Kriegsmarine eagle decal, showing only a single small abrasion to the lower breast area.

This example is fitted with its original early M35-style aluminium banded liner—an unusual and telling feature for an early production M40 helmet. The liner leather is dry around the edges but fully intact, with all tongues present, complete with its original drawstring.

The original chinstrap survives in superb condition, the tip still crisply stamped with the number 4, with other markings faint from light stamping. An excellent, hard-to-find example of a Kriegsmarine gold-decaled combat helmet.
