GERMAN WWII KRIEGSMARINE JUNIOR OFFICERS VISOR CAP

A nice condition, good size, possibly 57, although not size stamped, standard junior naval officers' floppy dark blue visor cap. Classic shape for a navy officer. No moth to the upper body of the cap. Gold wire national eagle with gold wire rank braiding to the front of the cap and gold wire weave to the central cockade, the cockade has oxidised to a green colour. The cap is fitted with its correct naval officers' strap with twin gilded side buttons. To the interior, the leather sweatband in light tan has evidence of considerable wear and use, but ais ll intact. The complete inner lining of the cap is mid-blue rayon with evidence of hair grease to the upper inner crown, which was never fitted with a protective celluloid lozenge.
