A very large junior officer’s visor cap in the classic floppy Navy style, an impressive size—possibly size 60. Constructed from soft Melton Navy blue cloth, the cap shows no moth damage across the upper body. It is fitted with a matching set of toned wire-woven eagle and cockade, a standard naval strap, twin anchor side buttons, and a finely detailed rank braid edging the leather-bound peak.
Inside, the mid-tan leather sweatband retains vibrant color with expected wear in the forehead area and bears a gold-blocked maker’s name from Kiel. The interior lining is a silk-like rayon in Navy blue, faded at the crown, with the central celluloid lozenge missing; however, the maker or retailer’s gilt name remains faintly visible. The tip of the strap on the right-hand side is cracked and delicate but intact.
