German WWII Kriegsmarine Auxiliary Cruiser Badge

A very good example of the late-war Kriegsmarine Auxiliary Cruiser Badge, attributed to Steinhauer & Luck, although unmarked. This version features the classic flat magnetic pin which widens at the centre, typical of known Steinhauer & Luck production.

The badge shows excellent detail to the central Viking longship and globe motif, with the silver-plated catch retaining part of the globe, secured by a single domed rivet. The original gold finish has mostly worn away with age and service use, but the definition and construction quality remain strong. A desirable German Navy combat award from World War Two, ideal for Kriegsmarine collectors or those focusing on auxiliary cruiser and surface raider units.
