German WWII Kriegsmarine 1st Pattern E-Boat Badge – Early Schwerin Berlin Issue

A very good example of the rare 1st pattern Kriegsmarine E-Boat Badge, produced by Schwerin of Berlin. The gilded wreath retains much of its original finish, with only slight fading to the highlights from age and handling. The central E-Boat motif still shows a strong majority of its original silvered finish, particularly across the hull and superstructure.

To the reverse, the badge retains its full factory-applied blackened finish. The original wide pin, hinge, hook, and uniform retaining hook are all present and fully functional. As an early issue by Schwerin, this example represents one of the most sought-after naval combat awards of the period.
