German WWII K98 Display Piece with Matching Numbers

A very fine display example of the German WWII K98-pattern item, featuring fully matched serial numbers ‘2703’ stamped on both the main piece and its corresponding steel scabbard. The composite grips remain undamaged, showing the correct wartime pattern.

Clear double Waffenamt inspection marks are present on the upper fitting, with the rifle attachment mechanism intact and functioning correctly. The scabbard retains its original markings, including ‘CRS 40’, and shows service wear consistent with age—most of the original blued finish has been worn away, except in the protected area once covered by a now-absent leather frog.

An excellent matched-number example for display or reference, complete with all correct period features.
