A substantial and fascinating collection of Hitler Youth pamphlets, books, and diaries, possibly the compilation of a single member. Highlights include a brightly illustrated songbook depicting a Hitler Youth band marching, with full musical notation; a further music book titled ‘Germany on the Watch’ containing army marching songs; and a French edition of the Luftwaffe magazine ‘Der Adler’ from Berlin, October 1943.
Also included is a small RAD exercise booklet, a fully completed Ahnenpass belonging to Alfred Jenson, a 1938 booklet on Hitler Youth uniforms and structure with black-and-white illustrations, and a 150-page annotated Hitler Youth service book. A black-and-white Landjahr book is present, alongside a photograph album with 122 images showing group parades, camp activities, tent erection, sail training, training aboard ships, close-up uniform details, and views of larger German naval vessels.
The grouping also contains a three-part diary series. The first, starting in 1938, is a smaller format ‘Jungvolk Dienstbuch’ with hand annotations in Gothic German and a colored illustration of a hammer, bayonet, and swastika. The second diary, beginning April 1940, combines personal diary entries with black-and-white newspaper clippings of high-ranking Third Reich leaders, ending January 1941. The third diary continues from 1941 to July 1944, with extensive entries and newspaper cut-outs documenting the war’s progression.
Together, this collection offers an extremely rare, detailed, and historically significant insight into the Hitler Youth experience, making it highly valuable for research and study.
