GERMAN WWII HITLER YOUTH HONOUR BADGE FOR DISTINGUISHED FOREIGNERS

Excellent condition award, undamaged brown enamelled oval ring, red, white and black enamel to the central Hitler Youth logo, also without chips and scratches, some slight loss of finish to the tips of the eagle’s wings, the central white core of the enamel again undamaged. On the reverse side, all the original gilding is in place with its three delicate sunken rivets and its tinny type fixing.  The badge came in brown, green and red; it has never been discovered what the difference in the colours means. It was awarded to Hitler Youth foreign nationals.  An excellent description of this badge is on page 219 of The Hitler Youth by David Littlejohn.
