A fabulous example of the semi saddle shaped Luftwaffe Hermann Goering Division NCO or mans visor cap, constructed in the Luftwaffe blue ribbed material. White waffenfarbe to the crown and the upper and lower sections of the mohair centre band. A completely matched set of stamped aluminium Luftwaffe eagle and cockade. Standard oval double buckle chinstrap. The front visor has the classic double edge rib to the front of the visor. There is no moth damage anywhere on this cap. There is a slight abrasion on the inside of the visor resulting in the loss of approximately 1½ cm of the leather edge trim on the inside only of the visor. The sweatband is in an unworn condition light tan with its brushed cotton interior lining. A full centre celluloid lozenge, which below is stamped size ‘57’ with the gold block retailer’s mark of a company in Berlin. On folding down the leather sweatband an ink stamped number ‘24’ is clear. An exceptionally nice example of the Luftwaffe Hermann Goering Division cap.
