German WWII Grossdeutschland Enlisted Man/NCO Visor Cap

A Dutch-manufactured visor cap, designed to accompany the special pattern Grossdeutschland tunic, also featured on this website. Possibly a size 56, this cap is constructed from heavy grey wool of identical weight and nearly identical shade to the Grossdeutschland tunic fabric.

The cap features a slightly lighter shade of dark green centre band than typically seen. It is fitted with a well-matched set of stamped aluminium national eagle and cockade. The NCO double buckle chinstrap is present, along with a Luftwaffe-style double-edged peak featuring a green interior lining.

Inside, the grey gold satin ribbed lining remains intact, with a complete but slightly broken central celluloid lozenge bearing a name tag inside reading ‘Bestow STPF.J.R.Grossdeutschland’ on the printed label. The mid-tan leather sweatband is also fully intact. The cap is finished with standard infantry white piping.
