German WWII Gestapo Identification Tag – Numbered ‘3035’

A very rare and highly sought-after identification disc issued to the Geheime Staatspolizei (Gestapo); individually numbered ‘3035’ and featuring the large eagle and swastika emblem on the reverse. The disc exhibits a lightly pebbled surface, consistent with ground-dug recovery and subsequent careful cleaning; however, all key details remain sharp and clearly legible.

This example precisely matches known originals as referenced in Third Reich Warrant Discs by Don Bible (2001), the definitive work on the subject. A key feature noted in authentic Gestapo discs—the slightly lowered first ‘S’ in Staatspolizei—is present here, confirming its alignment with established originals. Comparable in condition to the ground-recovered example shown on page 24 of Bible’s reference. An exceptional and historically important artefact from the shadowy world of Nazi internal security.
