German WWII German Cross in Gold Citation

A fine formal-type German Cross in Gold citation; awarded to Oberleutnant Rolf Rocholl of Panzer Regiment 5, 21st Panzer Division—part of the famed Afrika Korps. Dated 25th March 1942; this award predates his later decoration with the Knight’s Cross, which he received on 28th July 1942 for actions near Tobruk.

The citation bears the ink signature of Field Marshal Wilhelm Keitel and the issue rubber stamp of the Commander of the Army. In excellent overall condition; with one central fold and a light crease to the upper right corner.
