German WWII Gauleiter of East Hannover Otto Telschow Citation

A large and highly impressive brown leather folder measuring 43 x 33 cm with gold edging. Inside, the double-folded citation is beautifully applied on vellum to the left-hand side, while the right-hand side displays the initials ‘OT’ over superb hand-applied gold insignia of the Handworkers Society. The citation appoints Gauleiter and Staatstrat Otto Telschow as Honorary Master of the East Hannover Handcraft Workers Association, presented at the Gau Headquarters in Lüneburg on 26th April 1939. The text praises him as a loyal, long-standing party member and friend of the Führer. Telschow, party member number 7057, joined in July 1935; he was arrested by British forces in May 1945 and subsequently committed suicide in Lüneburg on 31st May 1945.
