A very nice large size visor cap, possibly 58–59, belonging to a Fire Police officer. The cap body is in excellent condition with no moth damage. Red piping highlights the edges, while the black velvet centre band is fitted with the officers’ central cockade and a struck aluminium police-style officers badge. Standard officers’ cap cords and twin pebbled side buttons complete the exterior.
Inside, the leather liner is slightly split but remains largely intact. The upper crown lining is in russet brown waterproof material, with a full celluloid centre lozenge stamped with the retailer ‘K. Negele of Tübingen’. A very clean and well-preserved example of a Fire Police officers cap.
