From a collection originally acquired in the Channel Islands of Great Britain during the 1970s. A fine short model parade example, non-maker marked, but featuring excellent deep etching to both sides. The obverse bears the classic double scroll with the German inscription “In Memory of My Service Time”, flanked by a down-swept wing eagle and swastika to the left. The reverse side displays a mounted cavalryman in mid-charge, again with the eagle and swastika motif.
The original leather washer is present, and the finish remains bright throughout. The hilt retains very high-quality plating and is slotted for a bayonet fitting, with the mechanism functioning correctly. The chequered grips are undamaged. Complete with its matching scabbard, which remains in superb condition.
