An early Kriesleitung official’s visor cap featuring black piping and constructed from a canvas-like material with black waffenfarbe. The cap is completely free from any moth damage and includes a standard velvet centre band.
The front displays a large gilded political eagle above a single multi-enamelled and multi-constructed central cockade. Gold cap cords are secured with political-style gold side buttons, reflecting the high status of this piece.
Inside, the sweatband is a light cream colour showing signs of wear consistent with age. The inner lining is a light blue satin with slight staining to the crown area and some shredding and fatigue typical for its age. There is no RZM ticket present, as early Kriesleitung caps did not include these.
The centre celluloid lozenge is fully intact and features the original owner’s name, ‘Muller’, accompanied by the Roman numeral ‘IV’. This is a very large-sized cap, estimated to be around size 60.
