A small-sized, possibly 54/55, early Allgemeine SS officer's cap. The iconic black cap with crusher-style peak, death's head skull and early M.29 cap eagle, which has minor signs of green Verdigris; white piping upon either end of the velvet centre band and crown, the white piping has a few moth nipped areas. A very 'toned with age' silver chin cord, held on with again toned, silver pebbled side buttons. The left side of the velvet centre band appears to have a period repair as shown. The interior lining is black rayon cloth, the central celluloid lozenge is coming away slightly, and the brown leather sweatband has one full tear. The underside of the sweatband carries a handwritten name of Becker, making this a very traceable cap.
