German WWII Dutch Luftschutz Helmet

An unusual and striking example of a Luftschutz helmet, being a captured Dutch Army helmet repurposed for German civil defence use. The helmet retains its original undamaged Luftschutz insignia. Light green rust shows through the dome, with the original Dutch green paint still visible beneath the German overpaint.

One liner-retaining rivet is missing on the left-hand side when viewed from the front. Helmets of this type, German-utilised foreign designs, are particularly interesting to collectors of Luftschutz and RLB equipment.
