A good grouping of four citations to Obergefreiter Ernst Agger, who served in Grenadier Regiment 501. The Demjansk Shield citation is A5 size, non-punch-holed, one fold, awarded 31st September 1943 with a facsimile signature of the Divisional General and a pen signature of the Company Oberleutnant. Iron Cross 2nd Class citation A5 size, awarded December 1944, with issue rubber stamp and ink signature of the Major General of the 290th Infantry Division. East Front citation, A5 size, dated July 42, Battalion Commanding Officers' ink signature. Black Wound Badge A5 size citation, dated August 41, Commanding Officers' ink signature, plus a letter confirming award of the War Service Cross 2nd Class with swords, awarded for the bitter and hard-fought defence of the Demjansk Cauldron from February 1942 to February 43. A good group.
