German WWII DAK M40 Field Cap

A well-used Carl Halfer produced 1941-dated M40 field cap with the soutache removed. Heavily worn and virtually bleached white. Fitted with insignia in Carl Halfer’s classic cross-hatched stitching style. Interior liner in standard red, showing traces of the Carl Halfer name and address, with clear size 57 and date 1941. Faint shadow remains where the soutache was originally fitted, with no possibility of identifying its original color.
