GERMAN WWII ARTILLERY OFFICERS OVERSEAS CAP IN CANVAS

A highly unusual, large-sized, possibly 58 or 59 artillery officers' overseas cap, produced in a light grey canvas material. Silver waffenfarbe to the crown and front scallop of the cap, with its correct silver Bevo weave officers' quality eagle on a dark green background with a bullion wire cockade. Some slight losses to the wire surround of the cockade, having the red inverted waffenfarbe for artillery units. The interior has an ersatz type half moon sweatband in the forehead area, which is cracked in places, the remainder lined in black rayon. Evidence of considerable wear and use. An unusual piece of Third Reich headdress.
