German WWII Army Style SS Officers Overseas Cap

A classic example of an SS officer’s field cap, reflecting the period practice of utilising army officers’ caps for operational use. Constructed to officer ribbed quality, the cap shows some thinning of the nap, which remains visible when the side curtains are pulled down. Silver waffenfarbe adorns the crown.

There are various moth holes across the cap, most notably on the left-hand side, consistent with period wear. The cap is fitted with an army officers silver Bevo eagle on green backing, featuring a jawless M29 skull, positioned between the white inverted V waffenfarbe.

The interior retains its black brushed cotton lining with a half-size mid-tan leather sweatband to the forehead. Stamped size 55.
