German WWII Army Smoke Troops Officer Candidate Shoulder Boards

A fine matching pair of mid-war field grey shoulder boards with Bordeaux red wool piping for smoke troops. Each board has the field grey strip at the base, denoting officer candidate status. Both original slip-on tabs are intact, with slight moth damage visible on one tab. A scarce and well-preserved set.
