German WWII Army Single Decal M42 Raw Edge Combat Helmet

A very good example of a large-size M42 single decal Army combat helmet, retaining nearly all of its original paint finish with only light abrasions and minor areas of rust bleed. The Heer decal remains clear and well-preserved, with only slight wear as visible in our images.

The interior is equally well-kept, with the liner retaining its original light tan colour and complete drawstring. Stamped size ‘58’, the liner shows only light roughness along the lower inner edge. The standard zinc liner band remains firmly in place, fitted with what appears to be an early brown leather chinstrap with an aluminium buckle — the strap is soft and supple, though split near one of the adjustment holes.

The rear skirt is stamped ‘D 314’, with faint traces of an ink dome stamp still visible. The rear liner retaining rivet cap has separated from the rivet head, though the liner remains secure. A well-preserved and honest example of a late-war M42 combat helmet.
