German WWII Army Panzer Officer’s Overseas Cap

A high-quality field grey-green officer’s overseas cap, small size, approximately 54. The cap shows two minor moth nips to the upper body. It is trimmed with silver waffenfarbe around the upper envelope and front scallop, with pink waffenfarbe forming a V-shape around the central bullion wire cockade. The correct Bevo silver wire eagle has been applied over a section of heavy-duty cloth and then stitched to the cap, showing slight moth grazing to the upper part of the eagle and the tip of the lower right wing. The interior displays clear evidence of wear, with a half-size inner sweatband fitted—either originally or added after purchase—covering the forehead and half of the head area.
