GERMAN WWII ARMY PANZER OFFICERS OVERSEAS CAP

A small size, high-quality construction officers' Field Grey Green overseas cap, possibly size 54. Two minor moth nips to the upper body. Silver waffenfarbe to the full surround of the upper envelope and the front scallop of the cap. Pink waffenfarbe in a V shape around the central bullion wire cockade. The correct Bevo silver wire eagle appears to have been applied to a section of heavy-duty cloth, then applied to the cap. Slight moth damage to the upper part of the eagle and the lower right-hand wing tip. To the interior, there is evidence of much wear and use; the wearer has had fitted either originally or after purchase a half-size in circumference inner sweatband just covering the forehead and half head area.
