A rare and highly sought-after example of a Panzer Grenadier officer’s overseas cap, constructed from enlisted-quality field-grey wool but appointed with officer-grade insignia. The cap features full silver waffenfarbe piping along the crown and front scallop, denoting officer status within the elite Panzer Grenadier branch.
Fitted to the front is a silver Bevo-woven officer’s eagle above a heavily hand-embroidered national cockade, accented by a twisted cord soutache—an uncommon detail. The interior is marked with size "56" and retains a shortened leather sweatband at the forehead, which shows significant wear, including rotting and splitting in one section. Other interior wear suggests prolonged period use. A scarce and desirable field-worn example of a Panzer Grenadier officer’s cap.
