GERMAN WWII ARMY NCO OR OFFICERS BERGMUTZE

A fabulous example of the Bergmutze. Ink stamped to the upper inner lining size 57 but on test it would appear to be more 55 or 56. High quality private purchase material. Nap good. Fitted with the single T shaped silver Bevo wire eagle on a tan background with the Bevo wire NCO or officers quality weave cockade below.  Twin buttons. Edelweiss fitted to the side of the cap. Standard short peak. Fitted with a full officers sweatband with the initials ‘EG’ individually applied to the leather sweatband. Complete with satin lining. To achieve a snugger fit to the wearer the cork cushion normally found in visor caps has been placed underneath the leather sweatband at the rear of the cap for at least half of the circumference of the skull. A beautiful example.
