German WWII Army Mountain Trooper Officers Visor Cap

A superb high saddle shape visor cap for an officer of the German Army mountain troops. The cap is piped in mountain green to the upper crown and both edges of the dark green centre band. Fitted with a fine quality struck aluminium eagle and a woven cockade with metallic centre, complete with standard officers’ silver cap cords and twin pebbled side buttons. Likely size 55. The wide mid-tan Peküros sweatband is in excellent, apparently unused condition, with only a 10cm section loose where stitching has rotted. The upper inner crown is lined in grey satin with the Peküros maker’s logo, a later war example without the celluloid lozenge. Cloth throughout is free of moth. A very attractive and clean example of a sought-after visor.
