Size stamped ‘56’ to the inner side of the brown sweatband. Very good quality and extremely high saddle shape in a more grey colour than grey green. The white piping for infantry stands out proudly against the grey colour of the upper part of the cap, also against the dark green centre band. A mixture of insignia having an army officer's stamped aluminium cap eagle with a wire-woven bullion cockade and matching cap cords with silvered side buttons. To the interior, the cap is gold satin lined, and the mid brown sweatband appears absolutely unused. The maker’s name ‘Pekuros’ is within a lozenge to the upper satin section of the cap, a celluloid lozenge never fitted, indicating a late war cap. Two moth nips just below the upper waffenfarbe on the rear overhang.
